I hate to break this to you Pezza, but the bastards slow the clock down even more as you get closer to delivery! Yesterday was one of the longest days ever for me, and last night dragged by as well. 9am couldn't come around quickly enough for me, but it was SO worth it!

The price of any VW seems to be based around two items that are discounted: Dealer Delivery and a discount on the Base price (ex GST).
The most you will generally get for a fleet discount up to 10%) and dealer delivery is the cream of profit for the dealer and they will try $2700 but they will do $990 inc GST if they want your business. All the options will be charged full price and watch out for dealer fitted options. The MDI is $270 factory fitted but near $500 dealer fitted. Probably takes the dealer 5 mins to fit for $250 profit. Using these factors you can work out the minimum deal to go for. Bear in mind I think VW offer discounts for fleet buyers only on a fleet letter but you can still push for a car. BEWARE getting a 2008 model as these may not be MDI compatible or park assist optical viewing, but push for a bigger discount comensurate with the 2008 model depreciation. Also a towbar for Tiguan is up to $2000 but just under $1600 is more real. I agree, a car in stock is much more appealing to do a deal.

    Good luck.

So you just escaped the Luxury Tax rate, sounds nice. How much did they itemise Bluetooth on your tax invoice?

I did some sums, and it looks like without discounts, your car would have cost around $62k (on road). Is that right? If so, a $5k discount is pretty impressive - well done. Would you mind describing the negotiating process?

This week I got a $61K quote (onroad) for
    103 TDI Automatic
    Black Metallic paint
    Sat nav
    Park Assist
    Leather Seats Beige
    Comfort Pack
    Tinting and leather protection (xpack)
    Bluetooth Premium (factory version)
    Floor mats & bootliner

They offered me $57K (ie $2k discount) or $59k including servicing for three years.

    Are these prices about right?

Is $2000 for 3 year servicing worth it?

    Thanks.

No i don't think those figures are quite right. The only discount i got was about $100 off the tinting. And i got the car and accessories off the 2008 price list, but that was only $1000 off the car, and probably another $100 total off the accessories combined. I'll have to check my order again tonight when i get home to confirm but here is how it added up for me

    103 TDI Manual 35990
    Black Metallic paint 790
    Panoramic Sunroof 1990
    Sat nav with Dynaudio 4780
    Bi Xenon Headlights 1990
    Park Assist 1390
    Leather Seats Beige 3990
    Comfort Pack 990
    Tinting 400
    Bluetooth 540

    Total $52850

Then there were the on road costs etc. I'll check the paperwork tonight and let you know. I'm actually annoyed about the bluetooth, i'm hoping i can get the premium option added at a later date

Thanks. It'd be great to see what hey charged for on road costs too. The May 2009 prices appear to have gone up by $900. The TDI Auto is listed on their March 2009 Pricelist as $38290. On my quote, it says $39,190. Amazing what a difference a few months makes.

    Thanks.

Good to see some packages and price are coming in from people. It is really helping me with which price I should look at paying and how hard I can push on discount.

These prices look like RRP ex-GST, so I'd imagine on the invoice the discount would be off the price of the car or as a separate line? I see that dealer delivery is $995 (incl GST), which I presume is the fleet price.

In NSW stamp duty is 3% up to $45,000, then becomes 5% for amounts over that.

Yeah, checking the invoice those are pre-GST prices. I did get Fleet discount on dealer delivery too, you're right.
