Us "enthusiasts" are waiting for the Golf R to be released! Although if i hadn't already ordered the Tig for the wife i would have been really tempted to get one myself and add a Stage II tune to it. (actually, i'm still tempted, but figure that 2 Tigs in the one family is a bit much no?)
Every now and then I get into the same problem .... its just so much fun driving the Tig (as the ultimate Q car). But the R's allure still keeps me focused then ....

EDIT: Best solution is to get the Stg II tune for the wife's car (as I have done), so that when you drive it, you actually enjoy it as well ....

Yeah, that's on my things to do list as well. But thought i'd wait until we actually get the car and drive it a bit first. There were not 147's to test drive at the time, so it was ordered only after driving the 125.

Well, I am impressed with you guys!
At least you got a great car for the family runaround...(ie soccer mum car) instead of the cheaper options like craptivas etc that would make us gouge out our eyes if we had to drive them....

My Mrs wont drive my Tig after scratching it THE FIRST DAY SHE EVER DROVE IT!!! "it is too big" she said!

I was good...kept my cool and simply looked at the damage and walked back inside. Never raised the topic again. And more importantly, she has never set foot in the drivers side ever again...

So her scratching it has gauranteed that my seat will never be touched again, and no further damage will ever happen again for the life of the car..

Well, my missus is currently driving a VW Passat V6 SE with all the options, so she was never going to settle for anything that didn't have similar levels of refinement, quality, and luxury. Which according to her ruled out anything Aus or Jap made.

And considering she said no to any station wagon (no R36 ) then Tig is about the only sensible option.

A Stg2 Tig is quicker than a R36 anyway .... (.... just don't tell anyone as they seem to get upset when you do .... the truth hurts too much .... )

I've had the Tig for about a month now and my Mrs still hasn't crossed over to the driver's side! Starting to run out of excuses already...

OK i'm not really that bad. Honestly she just hates to drive.
