    How many sets of keys?

I totally forgot to check this before signing the contract (and delivery is in 3 days!) ..

I'm so used to getting 2 sets of keys as standard, but I'm guessing VW might be tighter than the more mainstream brands?

Do they at least give you a remote key (rather than a manual one?)

    scotch.

that's an interesting quote there scotch- more "mainstream" brands? Just FYI, these are recent world market share figures (not US):

1st: Toyota, 4.818(million) - up +2.2% (for how long though?)
    2nd: General Motors, 4.540(million) - down -3%
    3rd Volkswagen AG, 3.266(million) - up +5.8%

I believe by the end of 2009, VW had increased even further.

But yes you do get 2 sets of keys. The key hides in the remote - not seperate unit - so you get 2 keys/remotes, just like you do with the mainstream brands

Actually VW now is THE mainstream brand .... its more common worldwide than .... a Toyota .... ended up #1 for global sales in 2009.

So forget about diving a premium car .... pretty soon they will forget how to build a car people actually want just like the other #1s before them....

heh heh I didn't realise my words would get examined that closely

what I meant was the various options with VWs seem to be more 'exclusively' priced than some of the other brands (eg. Mazda, Toyota, Holden, Ford, Hyundai, Kia, Honda .. I've been test driving different cars for 3 months now!), and I figured they would probably try to squeeze another $300 or so out of me for an extra key.

But I'm happy to hear you guys received two and hopefully that will swing my way as well.

    yes please,

but then this little fella is calling to me very loud. I would own one in a heart beat...

I still can't understand why they're $350,000 here, and $140,000 in the US.

Just wait 3-5 yrs clip and then they are only $60K .... .... massive depreciation.

Great car for the money then .... pity about the costs to keep it running.
