Hi All,

I was just curious to know if anyone knows how long does it take to get car delivered from the date it lands on the port. I have my car landing on the port kembla on 22nd May 2009. My Dealer have told me that its going to take another 2 weeks once it lands in Australia to get to them from VW Australia.

Just wondering if this is correct.

With each vessel, hundreds of cars are unloaded. I don't know their process but AQIS and Customs do their thing then ADR compliance check and compliance plate fitted, transport to dealer (I assume they would consolidate a full load is available for that dealer) it would seem quite possible.

2 -3 weeks.
Mine landed 1 May in Bris, released from Port (customs) a week later, ready for pickup in Mel tomorrow (May 20). I suspect that VW must take them somewhere central to attach Compliance plates and then consolidate trucks to your dealership. So it would be variable depending on the queue for fixing Compliance plates, and the amount of time to wait for a full truck to your dealer.
