When Toyota Singapore switched sources from Japan to Thailand, it was pretty apparent there were quality lapses. Not just in lack of rattles but also in more mundane stuff like the gaps not being uniform across panels like bonnet and fenders etc
And the Japanese were supposed to have invented this whole process system

I have a rattle on the driver side. They told me it's inside the dashboard and something was loose. Fixed it the problem but after a few pot holes....it came back. I've replaced the speedometer console (free) as well because it has been an ongoing thing for almost 8 months now.
2009 model, built in Germany. Same symptoms as yours mate...but I got mine like....in 2011 haha
Thanks for all the contributions made in this thread and I can see there is a bit debate started here.
I will see what they find out next Wednesday and will let you guys know.
My Tig had developed a very annoying dash rattle in the last few months. Was going to book it in for a service but did a bit of an inspection myself.
The dash rattle was fixed when I removed the 3 or 4 parking tickets that had slipped down out of sight between the dash and the windscreen!!
Very happy to be back to a rattle free tiggy without being embarassed at Wallyworld when they found the parking tickets!
