got my baby today: need help on some Q

Finally pickup our tiguan today, what a stunner! the wait was well worth it.
The dealer rep show us the park assist on a tight parellal parking spot I was amused!! it was amazing how easy it was, only take the computer 2 steering rotations, one to to steer in and back again to align. I can said it was a choice we made without regrets, lucky we didnt chose the Toyota Kluger over the tiguan, its like a tank compared to the sdleek tiguan.

Got a few questions, I hope the wonderful tiguan forum members can help.

It may be a stupid question but how do I permanently turn on the high beam?
I pulled the left lever toward the steeling wheel it activate the high beam but as I release the lever it turns off.

under the bonnet behind both ends of the headlight I noticed a compartment hidden inside I can see sponge type material with plastic wrapping around it, the wrapping protrude at the end of the compartment towards the headlight (was wondering what it might be? can I tear that plastic off?)

Hi, To put your lights on high beam push the lever forward. Should be the same as my Jetta.

Same way you do on just about every car, push it forward. It's worth while RTFM as it has all the answers.

Check your manual or ask the dealer if you're not sure.

I asked my mechanic about this as mine has it too, as do a few other Tigs I've seen (i think in some Tigs it's pushed further in than on others). According to him it should be left there as its a preventative measure to stop moisture from getting into the channels.

Welcome to Tiguanland. I got mine a few weeks ago, and it rocks. This forum is excellent, so keep coming back to share your experiences.

Thanks everyone, I work late shift no time to ask the dealer.

I tryed push the lever forward but at the time the car engine ignition wasnt on, so I thought it was different on european car.

another question, does tiguan come with cigarette burner plug? I dont have any cigarette burner on my tiguan's cigerette sockets.

No cigarette lighter is included. I don't think many cars have them at all anymore. Damn PC nicotine nazis!!

    thanks Pullstarter!

After taking the car home i noticed theres one screw missing under the wheel arch, which I replaced already but the car's paint job has a black dot roughly the side of the end of a ball point pen(factory defect) on the upper side of the quarter panel would this be fix under warranty before i make a trip to the dealer?
