Yeah I know I put fly screen on my previous car also. Was always on the "to do" list so after running through a locust plague on my last trip decided to finally get around to doing it. If I'd only have done it sooner would have saved me from carefully picking all the bits out of my radiator.

Can anyone offer some useful advice how to release the black wheel arch trims from the bumper to expose that hidden screw please? I keep hearing they're prone to breaking and I really don't want to break the arch trim considering it's astronomical cost from VW.

Have a look here: Tiguan Front Bumper Removal - Anyone know how??

Undo all the other screws and then gently pull the bumper/trim out to reveal the last screw.

Should be the same even with your kit but I'd just take it slowly and be gentle. As you say the plastic bits can be quite expensive - especially when you ahve to colour match them

Thanks mate, so you colour coded your arch trims? If so did they remain durable and chip free?

No mine are the stock grey. I was just making the point that if you busted yours then you'd not only have to get new trims but you'dalso have to go to a panel shop to get them painted.

Be carfeul and you'll be fine
