Bambazonke, how is the quality of the SW? The leather, the stitches, etc?

I havent hit the buy button yet, but bought a few led bulbs from other sellers to test how the allibaba site works.

The stitching looks exactly the same and at this stage the leather is the same however over time it may change like any other leather products.I regularly coat my leather in both my 320d and Tig with dubbin as here in this part of QLD it gets pretty hot in summer. I don't expect it deteriorate anymore than one made in Europe.

Hi, new VW owner here. Bought my MY11 147TSI Tiguan back in March and got the paddle shift MFSW and lowline RVC from Hao Xu for AUD425 delivered. From memory, he mailed it on Monday and I received it on Friday. Installed both items over the weekend. MFSW was certainly an easy and quick install and the RVC retrofit was a real PITA but loving it.

Are you able to share where you got your mirrors from? I'm already itching for the next mod and I've been searching the Internet the past few days for folding mirrors with no luck. All I could find were some Kool-Vue mirrors for left hand drive vehicles (not sure if it matters).

Just out interest Bambazonke ... would I be correct in assuming the folding mirrors come unpainted?

So need to fork out some more money to get them painted to match?

Should be able to reuse the mirror cap (top part of the mirror that is painted) and glass from your existing mirrors. Also, I may also be able to reuse my existing door controllers. The following forum member with working folding mirrors have the same part no as the controllers in my Tig.

Address 42: Door Elect, Driver Labels: 1K0-959-701-MIN3.lbl
    Part No SW: 5N0 959 701 D HW: 5N0 959 701 D

Is there anyone on here that lives in Sydney with the cable that would be able to code the steering wheel for me if i got one?

Or is it very hard to do yourself with the cable?

It sounds like the steering wheel that Bambazonke got is pretty decent and given its a standard looking wheel i am seriously considering buying one.

In the proces of installing the folding mirrors will try and answer the questions above
    1. Original mirror switch made in China! So if vw germany are using Chinese made parts in EU assembled VW's I see no issue with where the Steering wheel is made with respect to quality. BTW the new mirror folding switch is made in Malaysia complete with vw emblem and part number!
    2. The mirrors I bought were second hand out of a 2011 Tig and the covers are maroon however as scooby pointed out the glass and painted cover are interchangeable However you will need a special Vw tool to get behind the mirror to unclip it without breaking it. I am off to the local dealer now to see if he will loan me the tool.
Some good news the local techie showed me how to remover the cover without the special tool.
    A. Tilt mirror down as far as possible then use a hacksaw blade or in my case a dinning room knife and GENTLY wedge the 2 clips down. use a torch to see them before hand and monitor progress.
B.Place the whole mirror mounting against your chest and pull apart may take a bit of force and Your fingertips will be a bit sensitive after doing this a few times as I decided to install the mirrors in the meantime while I try and source new UDS controllers that support the folding function puddle lights and possibly one other function

3.i have just realized the door controllers supplied are for the old individual controller setup. My car has the new UDS controllers which incorporate the rear door modules as a slave so my back doors/windows will not work if I use the controllers supplied.
    4. Anybody intending to install these folding mirrors here in Aus will most likely have to replace their existing modules as the pins are missing for these functions. They carry the same part number but have a a couple of letters after the part number to differentiate their functionality.
    5. I will be selling these modules once I get the equivalent UDS controller ones for anyone who manages to get the mirrors only.
    6. Brush up on your German and search eBay Germany for Tiguan spiegel (mirror) that is where I find most of my parts for my Tig

Have a word with Kamold in the audio section of the forum. He is very helpful with this but it will probably cost your a carton!

Coding of paddles takes 10 seconds or 5 mouse clicks. Refer back to post #2.

I can help ido09s, depending on where you are and if it's not too much trouble in terms of organising meeting time and place.
