Found it: F16 (30A) Multifunction control module 2
Is this the head unit?

Had this fault too. Thought the poor Tiguan had had a stroke when everything stopped working all the way down one side
The cause is a high current contact that has resistance, causing heating at the interface that melts everything around it. As the contact heats and becomes burnished, the resistance increases, perpetuating the problem.
In this case, its likely that the spring tension of the fuse holder contact was insufficient. Manufacturing problem.
Merely pointed it out to the dealer, they changed the fuse box without any comment, assume it is a common fault.
I was speaking to a Holden product engineer, they turn off a lot of the warning feedback like this one as they see them as nuisance alarms.

TDI tiguan in the drive. ParkAssist, comfort, fogs
Service every 15,000, new fault code every 7,500km
Even though your car is out of warranty I would be contacting your dealer and seeing if they can replace under warranty as this sort of thing really shouldn't happen.
Interesting what you are saying, because I counted already 3 people on this thread who had the same issue like me and it sounds like a manufacturing problem or that's the assumption.
So if there are others with the same problem and it is true to be manufacturing issue, why they don't check it at VW service and replace the fuse box or do a recall? Isn't it dangerous if the fuse box melts while I am driving?
BTW as I mentioned previously the car is booked for Monday with VW service. And I will insist to do this under warranty as they just replaced my aerial under warranty two weeks ago. First I thought the two things had a connection, i.e. they didn't put back a fuse while they serviced my car or something. Plus the flat battery on the weekend. 3 issues in 2 weeks. Too much.

VW Barloworld is replacing the fuse box today FOC as part of the warranty, even that the 3 years warranty has expired 5 months ago.
Good to hear. You would only expect this sort of thing if people have changed loading on circuits or added accessories which the main board couldn't handle.
Sounds like a known issue and a good result/outcome.
