sorry to see you leaving the Tig crowd, yes that's pretty much the veterans gone, at least on the tsi (as opposed to tdi) front.

be interested if you have the time to give a wrap up of what you loved and didn't like so much about the Tig after 3 or so years of ownership.

Think ours will be in the family for a while yet.

good luck and lots of fun with your new purchase

    hearty cheers

Ahhhhhhh I can feel the love A wrap up is a great idea Jimbo so here we go:

    Loves
    Comfortable
Heaps of seating space and leg room
    Looks great
    FANTASTIC engine!
Ergonomics of the instruments and general interior quality is top notch
Extremely comfortable for long distance trips
Handling (even stock its good for an SUV)
    Brakes are superbly strong
All around a superbly designed, engineered and built car

    Not so love worthy
Lack of a decently priced down pipe
Lack of readily available heavy duty clutches
    Space saver spare
For the love of god will at least ONE of the car manufacturers give us a decent wheel brace?!?!?!?!
Genuine accessories too expensive (this a whole of VW thing)
Waste gate rattle that took VW 2 years to fix

I have absolutely loved my 3 years with the Tig and not had ONE problem with it (apart from the waste gate thing). Its great to drive and that feeling of quality is very apparent every time you get in it. With the APR tune it goes amazingly well and surprises many so called "performance" cars. That front end also looks great, a bit disappointed with the blandness of the new one I have to say. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending a Tig to anyone. In fact I've talked quite a few people into them haha.

She'll be sorely missed but now we don't have to worry about carting teenagers around so much its time to have some sporty fun!

It's a shame to have you go mate but the GTI will be a fun beasty to drive, especially coming from the AWD Tig.

Glad you never had any real problems with it.

Was VERY keen on a rocco but the 2dr thing just won't work for us unfortunately I really do love the shape of the rocco

At this stage finances won't allow the V6 Passat and tbh I really wanted something small and sporty (chuckable) yet still fairly practical. I sat in the R but being a big fella the seats just didn't feel comfortable.

Despite compromises having to be made I'm more than happy with the GTI, took it for a good long test drive and really loved it.

Do I smell 1M in your future?
