Pending which manifold you have you could get either this one :
Intake Manifold - Euro Revolution
or this one :
1.8 TSI Manifold - Euro Revolution
Hi All. I'm hoping someone may be able to provide advice, the local VW Dealer wants me to spend around $1200.00 replacing the Intake Manifold, inc Solenoid and Gaskets.
The orange engine warning light came on late Thursday, paid the dealer $154.00 to investigate and tell me that fault codes were from the intake manifold sensor. Both sensor and manifold were working OK at the time of checking. Two TPIs : TPI 2043944/2 and TPI 2025038/7 recommend to replace the intake manifold and solenoid.
so, it appears both are working... BUT there MIGHT be something mechanical in the manifold - the VW solution is to replace the lot.
Has anyone experienced anything similar? or have any constructive advice? Thanks.. Chris.

Manifold issues are common enough. It's usually the actuator on the RHS jammed up.
What happens when u grab and twist? Does it rotate? If it has seized and you can get it moving then get the codes cleared and see how much longer you can get out of it.
It's 3-4 hours to swap it over. You are out of warranty so why not find a decent mech to do the job

Thanks for the suggestions. A bit of googling over the weekend has revealed that VWs TPIs suggestion to replace the manifold doesn't normally resolve the issue!! - instead - cleaning the solenoid connectors is the best option.
In my case it was more simple. The lead technician at the dealership had failed to plug the solenoid back in - I found it hanging down in front of the manifold after the online research.
Returned to dealer, plugged back in.... no orange light so far!
Why do you get it serviced at dealer? It must be well out of warranty by now.
