Hello everyone.

I have the 2013 2 litre diesel Tiguan (auto).

I am about to embark on a long trip and need advice on the following:

1. There is an engine noise rattle which I cannot pinpoint.
I can say that, generally, when the engine warms up, and it's in park or neutral, an occasional and temporary rattle sound starts from the engine bay area.
It is interesting to note that when I place the gear lever into reverse or drive it disappears.
I do hope it is only a cover or something similar. I had the same type of sound in my manual Hilux which was diagnosed as a thrust bearing but the Tiguan is an auto.

I would appreciate any technical insight.

2. Is it difficult to replace the fuel filter?
Do you guys use a genuine replacement and if so can anyone assist me how to change one - I would like to save money as I'm due for an auto transmission and timing belt change.
