    My rule of thunmb is:

    Offer advice / help.

    Don't get annoyed if they choose to ignore it.

    If it all goes pear-shaped then they are on their own as they chose to ignore you.

    VW dropped that a couple of years ago. Conventional auto servicing at 60,000 kms was introduced only for about a year then it was dropped off the service schedule.

    The $500 to service an auto was causing a lot of customer complaints so it was scrapped.

    I still suggest it. Beats replacing transmissions any day of the week. Cheaper in the long run, too.

    So JBd DUB does that mean gear box gets serviced or not? How often?

    Yes it does, at 60,000kms.

    VW only changed their policy not to push it onto customers.

    Yes. Every 60,000km. Personally, I'd do it at 45,000km if you intend to keep the car for more than a few years.

    I was only reading the other day on the VW UK website and it defined "Filled for Life" as 120,000 miles (190,000km).
