    Tiguan Insurance Thread

    Hey Guys.

I was looking at insurance costs for the Tig next year and i am pretty limited in my optiosn due to my age and car choice.

I thought it would be good to have a comparison thread so we can see what type of cover people have, how much they are paying and who their providers are.

Feel free to add any extra information in if you like.

i am picking up my Tig next week and so far the cheapest insurance quote i have received is $1,021 but that's with the MAX excess.

What ball park figure are other Tiguan owners paying for insurance?

Ballpark - NRMA for 147TSI is $700; rating 1 including glass

The problem with dollar value quotes is that what is offered by insurance companies as part of their policy varies greatly. For example what is a 24 month replacement policy worth in comparison to a 12 month replacement policy?

You may find this Canstar Cannex car insurance star ratings site helpful. As it says "Not all drivers are the same and no one car insurance policy will be the best fit for everyone, even if it is the cheapest quote." The site compares insurance companies according to a methodology they explain on the site.

    I hope this helps.

Hi, I have been getting a few quotes today as we pickup our new Tig on Monday. Below is what I have found:

RACQ with Silver Membership: $550 ($500 Excess)
QBE with 4 year new car replacement: $732 ($450 Excess)
    Suncorp: $1070.99 ($500 Excess)
    VW Insurance: $1042.22 ($450 Excess)
    NRMA: $800 something
    AAMI: $1300

Were all based on Nominated drivers overs 25 with an extra excess for under 25.
    Location was Gold Coast, Qld.

Decided on the QBE policy, as the detail was better than RACQ.

    Cheers
    Dave

Ive got QBE as well, have found them to be excellent, all my cars & bike with them including CTP, so I get volume discount.

QBE with 4 year new car replacement: less than $700 ($300 Excess)

and I've got listed as extras:
VW extras as fitted at purchase & then
    aftermarket alloys
    Chip
    radio

and 4 years new car replacement is really a big plus over the others.
