Have had a look myself in the past and the whole headlight looks impenetrable.

However it might be different with non-xenons.
Many people (on diff cars) remove things like the yellow blinker lenses from within headlights & replace them with clear ones. To do this 9 times out of 10 you put the whole headlight assy in your oven so it softens the bonding between the exterior lense & the assy backing.
Im not saying this is how the tiggy is done, but after having a look imo it has to be one of the methods.

I believe VW Started using heat resistant adhesive from about 2008 onwards so bear in mind you may end up toasting your light for no reason.

    Bugger ey
I remember when I did my first wrx, you dont leave them in the oven for too long, thats for sure. You constantly check them.. for the hard modder, its worth a go anyways.

These days I would just do what Ian has done.. those ebay LEDs are getting better & better as time goes on

Yeah the joey mod worked well up until midway through the mk5 golf generation when they switched the adhesive.
You could just get an LED strip and use it where the city/parker bulb goes, would take a bit of DIY mounting (styrofoam or flexi-rubber) to get it to stay upright and pointing outwards though.

Here's another alternative and costs about $70 all up (assuming you have access to VCDS to enable the fogs as DRLs):

    MY11 Tiguan 147TSI (SOLD)
