    Creaky Door Seals

I've noticed that the door seals are creaky (at low speeds).

@Transporter - I saw your post about using WURTH Rubber Care about 12 months ago. Is this still the product you would recommend or have you found something better?

If anyone else has found a product that works, would love to know.

    Cheers

    Try Einszett GummiPflege from Waxit.

I just redid mine at the weekend, the dry Summer weather seems to bring the problem back. Personally I use "CRC Dry Glide" (sounds like a condom lubricant LOL) with Teflon. Anyway it comes in a 150g aerosol can, is safe on rubber and paint. It's quite a "tight" spray so you can apply it direct or just spray a cloth and rub on if you're worried about overspray. Works really well.

@LWR - thanks I found this article on Einszett GummiPflege. Approx how many months do you get before the sound re-appears?

@NZTiguan - how many months do you get before it needs to be re-applied?

Shawno, I found the problem to be the latch, not the rubber... Creaky, tickity sound? I did try the gummi product & while it may be a good rubber product, did't make the sound go away. Try some dry lube on the latch!

@MGV - will have to test that out but I can hear it come from all around the car, and it has a rubbery sound to it. What I might do is wet all the rubbers and see if that reduces/stops the sound. If it does then it's rubbers and not the latch.

I reckon MGV is right - the sound travels all the way up to an area just below the ear. I got some silicone lubricant and sprayed it in the latch of the door and it went quiet. I just have to stop being a lazybum and get some light grease in there instead of respraying every few weeks...

Lasts about a year I think, it's VERY easily reapplied though. For what it's worth I also spray the latch and I'm sure that's PART of the issue BUT on mine it's definitely the rubbers as well. I think it probably goes back to some door adjustment though because I ONLY get it on the passenger side. You can hear it when it's bad by pressing on the upper door frames near the B pillar from outside, and it "gives" a bit and squeaks !!! It's NEVER as bad in Winter when it's damp though and we do have a VERY dry climate here in Summer with humidity often down around 25%.

    Cheers
