Best of it all was, the work was done by a VW master technician and not an apprentice at a VW dealership .... Go VW specialists for the win ....

At the same time Jimmy fitted original VW Optical Parking sensors to the rear of the Tig for me.
sounds good, i will definitely be hittung Jimmy up for my servicing.

Can the sensors be fitted on without replacing the whole rear bumper? I thought it does because of the row of holes.. now feeling a bit of regret not having it factory fitted!

Do not need to replace the bumper. The bumper actually has the markings on the inside where the sensors have to go, so its a simple case , removing the bumper, drilling the holes as marked already and then fitting the sensors and refitting the bumper.

Yep, me too, particularly after reading the horror stories on here about dealer servicing. My 15,000km service is just around the corner (like less than 1,500km to go). Only question is, what about the recalls. I assume I still have to take it to the dealer for those....the only one I know of at the moment is the tab in the door handles...anyone know of anymore?

Well I definitely won't be going to a dealer for my servicing.

Just picked up the Tig from the dealer for a warranty issue (stability control light error intermittently coming on) and had asked them not to wash it. Guess what, pick up and its all washed. There will be hell to pay if I find swirl marks in it tomorrow in the sunlight.

How can you trust them to service your car if they can't follow that simple instruction.

    I feel your pain ChrisJ!

I don't even trust a dealer to put on plates on a new car (based on past experience).

Don't even bother to check whether it's straight and not skewed to one side.

    Please, please, please.

Need recommendations for a VW specialist in eastern half of Melbourne (appart from dealers).
Is it common to bring one's own oil? Castrol Edge 5W-30 is the correct one, I believe?

just booked mine in for 45k service. This includes an injector service, which I evidently need as it's done so many k's! Why do I feel like I'm being conned?

clip, contact Jimmy, (Jmac), its worth it bringing the car down to him.

Unless you must have the dealer stamp for when you trade the Tig on the new BMW X3 3.0TT ..... 0-100 in 5.7s in stock form and thats before you have it chipped (DMS - Guy again) will see 270kw+/500NM+ out of it and possibly a sub 5s 0-100 .... in a SUV that costs less than $100K ...... I know I'm tempted atm .....
