Compass Zone

Hello

has anyone got any info on what Zone a Tiguan in Sydney should have its compass set to?
And going a step further has anyone looked at the Calibration option for the compass?

The compass is part of the Off Road option pack. The guys that serviced my Tiguan last week are apparently not familiar with it & have managed to set it so that North = South etc.

I have the feeling there's info on it in the manual, sure I've read it somewhere, something about driving around in a circle slowly etc etc. Haven't got time to look at the moment but if you can't find it I'll have a look as soon as I get the chance.

Found the instructions in the manual but so far no joy. I'm in the correct zone but it's still not getting the direction right. I tried several circles with the calibration option on but no joy. Maybe roundabouts aren't a big enough circle.
Seems the Tiguan is destined for another visit to the service center

Ah well, driving round and round in circles in a Tig is MUCH more fun than in most cars and even driving to the dealer to let them play with it can be fun too !!! Besides which you might just find something out that will help other owners in the future !!

I racked up over 2 km of circles trying to calibrate the compass, circles at a speed of 10km/h or less. Didn't fix it
The Tiguan went back to the service centre & the guys found the problem. Apparently the sensor which is in the back roof space had started wandering. The verdict was that the factory hadn't attached it properly.
To find & fix this they had to open up the ceiling area (behind the sun roof).
I've only done the 5kms back home since they fixed it so will be monitoring over the next week or so.
This is the 2nd (small) thing that has needing fixing in the 6months I've had the Tiguan. The first was the boot door latch plastic catching - the latch was replaced & has been fine since.
