Kind of defeats the purpose.

Had the car serviced. Service guy said the bump on the dash IS a sunlight sensor. They tested it and as it is within the tolerances of the computer test, nothing to fix.
'computer says no'
So basically it is fine for vw to supply a system that blows 14 degree air at your head when the outside temp is 18 degrees and you have set it to 22. Probably because the over sensitive sensor tells the system that the sun is about to incinerate me. All i have to do to avoid the problem is drive at night, never drive into the sun, or shove a piece of paper over the sensor.
At least i know that on 40 degree days it will be quick to cool me down.....probably to minus 30.
Or i can just turn it off, wind down the windows and get an old kombi dashboard fan.
