    Clear Airbag Fault Warning

I had a faulty battery and after battery was replaced I have been getting Airbag fault warning. This have happened in past when my car was under warranty and battery went flat but when I took my car for servicing they said that warning have been cleared and there was no fault. I am sure the same thing have happened. Does anyone know of cheap way of getting this warning cleared? I am sure if I take it to dealer they are going to charge me to run the test which is unnecessary.

Anyone with a VCDS cable should be able to help you out. Alternatively a friendly independent may be able to assist. Where abouts are you located?

Obviously if the fault comes back after you clear it the you should take it to get looked at.

Our Jetta had the warning once a couple of years ago. I bought one of the cheap chinese units off ebay (not this one but similar - U281 OBD2 Obdii CAN Auto Scanner Code Reader Airbag ABS Reset Tool VW Audi Skoda | eBay) as the local stealer was talking $150 just to check it. Hasn't come back so clearly it was just a glitch…
