My Tig is 4motion. Doesn't make a difference on installation/part. The only difference is 4motion makes it a lot more difficult to install that wastegate clip I told you about.
    The DV I replaced myself.

Jack up the front driver side, and the DV is attached to the turbo. You should've seen it when you removed the oval charge pipe.

I found it slightly easier when I removed the wheel liner. Only like 10 torx screws.

    DV Location:

DV installed onto the stock electronic control valve:

Make sure to give it a good lube with some oil.

Also make sure not to drop the bolts for the DV. I dropped mine right on top of the subframe and took me like 30 minutes to get out. Oh boy that was not fun.

Takes about ~30-60 minutes to do by yourself. Make sure the car is cool before working on it

EDIT: The images are failing to load for me ??

I did. They're "attachments" but for some reason don't load on this page, when I click edit they show up fine. Odd.

    Possibly because they're .png files.

Try .jpg - perhaps an issue with the file format (even though .png is meant to be supported).

That's awesome, thanks so much for providing the images I'm going to order my DV+ next week. I don't recall seeing this when I installed the high flow turbo outlet pipe although there's probably a ton of stuff I wasn't looking out for.

Look at that bolt all the way down there, you can imagine it laughing and daring you to come fetch it

I took the tig out for a bit of "spirited" driving yesterday and I noticed 2 things after driving for about an hour:

    1) Heavy clunking under load going from 1st into second (D mode). I felt a pretty rough thud going through the drivetrain, this was accentuated when I was taking off around a corner. No issues from 2>3>4>5>6>7 and no issues using manual mode (although it did clunk once on the freeway going from 4>5 in manual mode)

    2) I'm noticing a mechanical vibration coming from the drive train when accelerating hard out of standstill while in 1st gear, this lasts for about 1 - 2 seconds and again it's accentuated when I take off around corners. It almost feels like I'm driving over a steel grate of some sort

I took her for a drive this morning and issue 1) wasn't as bad, however still getting the rattling as per issue 2). I'm probably stating the obvious here but I only started noticing this when I got stage 2 and the DP installed.

Has anyone here experienced any similar issues?
Have you changed the DSG filter/oil recently? How about the haldex unit in the back?
Granted my transmission makes weird shifts here and there but it's getting time to change my fluid going onto 55000kms. (its an auto not dsg)

Make sure to purchase yourself a genuine DV+. There seems to be a lot of fake clones out there that charge more for the same product? Quite stupid...

I got mine from sparesbox on ebay.

Hey mate, i got something similar in my manual Tiggy when i had a 3" downpipe installed, although it was a different brand.

The larger diameter pipe didn't fit all that well & my exhaust guy had to bend a bit of the heat shield a little to stop the pipe vibrating against it. Also, apparently, when the engine 'twists' a little under load, it touched the pipe & made a vibrating sound that was alleviated by 'crushing' a slight flat spot into the pipe where it was obviously touching.

Not sure if this is your issue too, but maybe??

    Good luck with it.

Yes I had the haldex oil replaced during my 125k service about a month ago, the car almost stutters going into second and I keep feeling a "thud" through the whole drive train, it's almost as though it doesn't know what to do with the extra torque as a result of the tune. It actually gets worse after driving for a while which is even worse.

Damn man I had no idea about the DV+ clones thanks for calling that out!

You know what come to think of it the tuner did mention they had to bend the heat shield a bit, maybe it touches this in 1st gear when I give it gas and the engine "twists"

Still doesn't explain the "thud" and stutter going from 1st to 2nd under load... I wonder if a DSG tune will correct it, I'm not keen on buying a new clutch pack and spending $5k....
