For Petrol? Didnt know it needed one.
Hi, I was after a oil catch can for my Tiguan TSI 4motion Petrol. Anyone applied one to their Tiguan?

I have a FORGE catch can on my 1.8tsi EA888. It's great. Look on AliExpress for a kit. ~$150 delivered.

I looked into this. The VW motors are well known for getting gunk in the inlet manifold/throttle body restricting the airflow from the oil vapour coming back through the EGR. A catch can is an (Expensive) solution for this (too late for my elderly Tiguan), or a (cheap) blanking plate (also available on EBay). You will get blank stares if you ask the dealer/specialist about it, as it is illegal as it disables some of the anti pollution system. There is a foam you can spray in which absorbs some of this, sets and is blown out as particles.

A fair bit of info on catch cans in the diesel forum, some recent info here: Catch Can Suggestions
Yes, with the plate that replaces the factory PCV.
I don't quite see how you could do the job properly without the Afrika plate.
Everyday driving, I empty about 300ml of oily gunk every 2nd fuel fill. Ideally, you'd have a ball valve on the bottom of the catch can with a tube attached so that you could empty it every week.
Mine cost me about $250 (before I saw them on Aliexpress). That's not a lot of money. I don't think it's ever too late to fit one.
The chemical clean is helpful but no substitute for removing the manifold and mechanically cleaning the inlets. I've done both over the years.
I'm not aware of any blanking plate for the TSI, so I assume you have a diesel. Diesels need a much better catch can than the TSIs.
