Sharkie definately keep your order on the Golf R they look awsome, heaps better than the GTI IMO plus they come in that cool blue and 19" wheels, mybe just take your order to another dealer or threaten to do so.

If I was you, I'd write to VW Australia and inform them of the incident. And say how disappointed you are, you have lost faith in the brand, the distrust of their employees it generates, how it reflects poorly on VW's image, AND you're a repeat customer, you've told everyone you know etc. Really rub it in.

VW Australia are already well aware of the dealership, they had management there a while ago for a "visit". Plus quite a few changes as far as management goes.

You could always write to the letters section of the Cars Guide in the Herald Sun (Melb) and just state what happened. The facts themselves imply theft.
Email to carsguide@heraldsun.com.au and state the situation and see what they reply. If nothing else it may spark VW Australia to investigate the matter and at the same time a lot of car enthusiasts read this Friday's extra in the paper, I do!

So which model MY10 has these hooks fitted? The 147TSI only?

Also these hooks are not for tie downs as they are only secured to the upper panel with a small torx screw which is not as secure as the bottom hooks which have a strong bolt securing them to the car frame.

If many of us write/email and complain about the deletion of these hooks
they might reconsider fitting them. Seems Australia gets a raw deal, no memory front seats, no sports option 18 deg model etc.

On another subject....i didn't realise dealers where taking orders for the Mk6 R? Have they released any prices yet?
