To buy or not to buy? 2015 Tig 155tsi R Line

Have found a very clean looking 2015 155tsi R line with very low k's. My issue is convincing my partner that it will be reliable, reasonable to service (if i dont go to the dealer) etc etc. So my question is, does this model have any big issues mechanically, dynamically etc and if there are any owners out there do they rate the car? Any feedback would be great. Cheers

The only issue with these cars is that they don’t have some of the new safety tech like adaptive cruise control.

You can retrofit Head units with Apple CarPlay pretty cheaply if you don’t like the RNS with satanic which is a bit clunky.

This model is pretty reliable as it’s been on production since 2007/2008. By the time this car was built there’s already been several million Tiguans built so you should be pretty right.

If you don’t need the extra space of the new Tiguan then the 2015 is a great little car.

Not wanting to dissuade you from buying as it is a very good car, but I suggest you look into forum post on water pumps and air conditioning compressor failures.

The Tiguans are quite reliable. If you want greater reliability, find the one with the TDI engine.

Agree with Miro - especially if you're doing higher km the diesel is a good choice.

If it's mainly going to be used for short trips to do school/shopping runs then the petrol is probably better suited to the job.

If it's a low km car with good service history (serviced every 12 months) it would be certainly something worth looking at.

We used to own a 2013 155TSI (non R-line) and never had any mechanical issues with it. I would buy one again.

<br>This model does have Apple Car Play (MY16). Am happy with the smaller footprint of this model as we are empty nesters. Mostly short trips but certainly the odd road trip. Cheers

Yes I have to say having driven both I actually prefer the size of the gen1 Tiguan over the gen2. It’s more compact and handles better than the gen2 which has a longer wheelbase.

It's a 2015 so should have updated parts and carbon clean usually only around 120,000km
