My missus ordered them too and it was by far the best option we could have chosen...

I had them on my MKV Golf GTI. They were not "turning" like the current generation, but they were awesome.
After having them, the almost 2 years with the Polo GTI sucked every time it was night. Doesn't matter what halogen bulbs you have, it just doesn't compare.

Now I'm on the MK6 Golf R with the current generation turning Xenons, again it's awesome. Don't believe for a second the people who owned a old Honda or Subaru and tell you they make no difference around the suburbs, cause they do! In the country, whenever I come up on one of those bends with lots of arrows pointing the direction to turn, if you've got high beam on, it's literally blinding due to the reflection off the signs!

anyone know whether you can install them post sale? I've seen some for sale (my tiguan forum). Maybe like some of the other options that can be installed post purchase (eg RNS510), they could work out a fair bit cheaper?

If you just want a simple bi xenon without the self adjustment + washer then it's possible it will be cheaper. Will not be legal though. Pretty sure it's doable. I retrofitted my previous c class without major issue, just need to reset the computer.

I don't believe that we've ever come across a method of installing them post sale, that comes anywhere near as cheap as the factory option....

Agreed. IMO if you wanted to do it legally, once you source all parts and add labour, you'll be kicking yourself for not just forking out the 2k and getting them from the factory.

    Pssst.
Get the Osram Rallye bulbs Jimbo

Much cheaper than a BiXenon retrofit.

Or do u think that fog lights @ $400 is a much better option for extra light during late/long drives.
    Cheers
    Hey mate,

Pay the $2000. I had the opportunity to order them with my car and I didn't. Now I'm kicking myself.

I may try one of these HID kits but I know it isn't going to be even closer to the factory ones. I'll go for the 35W and will only keep them installed in case I'm sure they are not blinding the other drivers. Otherwise I have to wait for the next car upgrade which will have it for sure!
