Best way to make a ride height ajustable Tiguan

I know there are few ways to change the ride height of a car. Some of them are using lowering springs, coil overs, air suspension, hydraulics etc etc. I like know which method is best suited for Tig with variable ride adjustability ( lower ride height for better handling and back to stock level or bit more off road) while keeping the compatibility with Bi-xenon auto levelling system?

I have no clue in this regard, I hope experts in here could explain it with some detail and costs involve.

Are you looking to go to something like this?

    Or perhaps this?

Obviously set-up is different depending on what you're looking to achieve.

...and also depends on your budget of course!

Oh nooo !! well I like to have both if possible But what I am really after is mix of the both worlds without going to extreams. For example would be happy if I could change the height +/- 2 inch from stock ride height+ most importantly keeping the compatibility with other systems like ALH

Basically you would need to go a custom air suspension setup if you want +/- 3"

If you want adjustment then you'll need to go for a set of adjustable coil-overs. Most people that change the ride height either lower or raise it by putting in different springs and leave it at that.

Yeah coil-overs I think would only give you a 40-50mm so if you wanted 150mm adjustment you'd be going air suspension as team_v says. Have a look over on vortex as there's more people in the US doing these sorts of things (i.e. I don't think there is a Tig in Australia with an air suspension system).

There's one thing to do it technically. It's an entirely different prospect doing it legally....

Yeah guys .. I think my hopes are little too much high here.. Like tigger says Coilovers could be a better solution with a budget and local expertise. I checked air suspension set-ups and they are too much of a hassle and seams to be not good for handling department. Not to mention the cost too.

Regardless of limited hight adjustability what are cons of coil-overs in respect to Tiguans ?

I think people that are just running on the road will play with their coil-overs to start with and then get a setting they are comfortable with and leave it.

If you're running on the road and track you may want to adjust between the two.

Otherwise if you're just going to have a single fixed setting you may as well get a set of lowering springs and just drop it the amount you want. This is obviously the cheapest option and what the majority of people with Tigs have done.
