I've looked around the forums, but have found nothing specific.
Its Melbourne in winter, and I admit its not that bright outside.
But my auto headlights are on everytime I use the Tiguan.
How bright muust it be before they shut off?

Not the case with the NZ ones, on occasion I've switched mine on "before" the auto has kicked in so for me they could be a bit "more" sensitive. I know you can adjust the auto wipers sensitivity on the wiper stalk but don't know of any way of adjusting the headlight one, maybe with VagCom ??

Mine always come on in the morning too, going in and out of shadows isn't enough for them to shut off...seems they need to be in consistent bright light for some time for they shut off. The second I drive under a bridge or into a tunnel the lights come on.
At first i thought it was a fault so I asked the dealer, he told me that's normal, even if they were too sensitive he said they can't adjust them![]()

This is interesting. I hadn't even noticed they were that sensitive to be honest, and given my Tig is black, I can't say I'm too concerned either. I'll happily live with them being on most of the time from a safety perspective. Why does this worry you?
I'd actually considered trying to find some aftermarket LED running lights like the Audi's have, but there don't seem to be any available for Tig's yet. I'm also not overly confident about wiring them up though, so can't say I've looked too hard.

Thanks for your replies. At least I know its not a fault.

I'll agree that the Auto headlights do seem very sensitive...
but like previously posted I'm not worried.
I drive around a lot of the time with them on...
which in a black 147 is good for both safety and also - "hey look at my GREAT Tiguan!"
I was watching them the other night driving home from work...
they are on... and even when I drove up a hill - into a not quite setting sun - but full on glare on the windscreen they still didn't turn off?!?!
All good though - still love my new toy!

A glorious day in Melbourne driving home this evening, using sunglasses and sunvisor. Feeling like a goose, as my auto headlamps remained on, even driving into direct sun. Saw a car coming toward me with headlamps on... as I got closer, I saw it was another Tiguan!![]()
