Yeah, and in that respect it's really no different from the Golf platform (which is also the Tiguan platform), where you have Seat and Skoda models at the lowest end, Golf models starting at $22k, ranging up to $70k for a R, then the S3 starting at $70k and going up to $100k, and then the TT-RS topping out above $150k...

Don't know about anybody else ... but I'm not getting any boost looking at the car in general.

Looks way too dull and boring on the outside (especially side view) and far too much like a Q7!

I don't know if I could live with it every day, looking like that (even for the sake of the RS engine)!

Would need to either find a paper bag big enough to cover it or learn to get into it blindfolded!

Forgetting the RS version (that I doubt we'll ever see in Aus), Q3 is purely for badge snobs. Everyone used to buy beemers, now they buy audi's. Every second car in the 'important' suburbs in Sydney, Melbourne and Bris is an audi. They're so common now I'd wouldn't buy one just for that reason (reverse snobbery I hear you say?) They'll sell them however. But at the end on the day, we know different - don't we?

Agree to some extent with clip here ..... Most Audi's are no better than VW's .... and they have far worse resale than VWs in general.

However, any Audi with an S badge is a good thing and the RS badge is and has always been something special. I'd probably buy an S Audi over the VW R equivalent and nothing VW has is even remotely comparable to any RS ....

I'd happily pay almost $100K for a Q3 RS as in the small SUV world, nothing will touch it.

And as far as looks go, I prefer Audi's in general over VW. VW is the new white goods automotive appliance ..... and anybody that says differently need to talk to a Toyota dealer and how they see VW evolving over the next few years. A Toyota dealer principal friend of mine says many of his cardigan wearing customers are defecting to VW .....

I'm a car fan and whilst I have owned 9 VWs and love the brand, I'm a car fan first and a VW fan second and see the value in other brands and models. I just love it when VW fans (and most are new to the brand) mistakenly believe its better than anything else. Its always my car is better looking etc etc etc etc .... quite funny.

Check out this review of the Q3, and the pics are quality work.

    2012 Audi Q3 — Autoblog

IMO this thing looks awesome, from exterior to interior! I'd have one any day, especially in SLine spec. Being similar to Q5/Q7 is not a bad thing, as these are far better lookers than any Merc or BMW SUV! What do people expect from a car? This would meet all my expectations, from size, comfort, style etc.

Good article thanks. Have to say I'm not a fan overall. Dislike the front and interior. That said I have no doubt it's a great bit of gear.
