I wouldn't buy Q3 even if the price was the same as Tiguan's.

Much better looking outside than the Tig IMO, and I much prefer the interior too. I really dislike the big high dash on the Tig (reminds me of a ford focus!). Still wouldn't buy one though, why would you? - other than for the badge, as phaeton said.

I'm not sure what I think. I can see the tig in the dna, however I can also see a bit of Darth Vader and Boba Fett as well. I always find it hard to visualise the car when it is in these weird computerised, designerish formats. I reckon the prices will start at a reasonably well optioned 147.

Is the Q3 really made in Spain?

My personal opinion is that it doesn't really matter where the car is built, it's all about the quality control. That said, German built definitely reassures people of quality. That's my two cents please feel free to disagree.

Personally I'm not phased by the Q3. I'd love to own one, but there are plenty of cars that I'd pick before it. Like my Tig that I can't wait to arrive!!!!

Yes, it will be built in the SEAT Martorell plant in Spain.

True quality control is different per manufacturer but if they're building SEAT models to will the quality be the same???

Q3 IMO will be successful and I will reserve my judgement till I see it in person.

Interior looks very good. I still like the corporate image of current Audis, not really feeling the VW though (as per Tig facelift). Audi also do a great job with their led lights. I will reserve my judgement on the look department until I see one on the road. To be honest, if it's price above the Tig, I will fork out the extra dough and go for a Q5 instead.

    on Quality :

regardless where the plant is, vendor`s strick quality guidelines are followed jsut the same way food chain Maccas taste the same in Syd as it does in London.
The savings are on the labour not necessarily on quality since it is strongly linked to consumer approval. Dont be disillusioned that a car made in Spain is less wordy of one made in Germany. Its the cost of sale thing.

anyway, Q3 willbe success coz no car will go on mass series production without a careful market research and/or pre-orders taken enough to justify building the first several thousands anyhow.

Q3 has the bling youth market demand. it will be a seller.. Gen Y think differently to Gen X.

Respectfully have to disagree on this point based on past experience.

FWIW, certainly in the VW Golfs have seen first hand the difference between those built in South Africa and Germany.

With the former having heaps of rattles inside the cabin compared to the latter.

Was looking to upgrade from MKV GTI until latest Budget

To me it looks like a bigger, dirt road capable, hatchback.
My current GTI doesn't like dirt roads very much,
so I was looking for something dirt capable but still allowing me to enjoy my normal driving style.
Looks a lot more compact (ie smaller) than Tiguan, which I was also looking at.
Thought about Subaru forrester, but 4 speed auto and badly laidout interior put me off.
