Spoke to Sunshine Coast VW (Gary Crick) last Wednesday and they had 6 125kw Tiguans available for immediate delivery. 5 x manual and 1 x auto. Not sure of the exact specs of each.

Don't know what the current status is.

    125TSI auto

    Hey clip
bought the 125TSI auto myself recently, had similar concerns, but it's definitely growing on me. power is pretty good, and much better and more linear than I expected. I'm also keen to see what Guy H comes up with, but stock standard is definitely no slouch, even in automatic.
would have preferred manual (for a change) but the thought of waiting 6-9 mths didn't appeal.
plus the Tigga in stock had a sunroof and was my colour of choice (silver leaf).
all I've done is stuck on a H&R H/D rear sway bar (adjustable), makes for much better cornering and driving up and down the range every day to work.
    good luck with the car!

That's great news! Was it the one in Toowoomba? Good to hear about the power delivery. Interestingly I was checking out the comparisons between the suzuki V6 and the tig. The 2lt Tig has 30nm more torque than the 2.7 v6! Less kW at 125 v 137 for the suzuki, but that torque figure would be big advantage- especially for an auto.

I wonder if Guy got hold of someone's for the work? You might have to take one for the team and lend him yours Tigga! I'd give him mine in a heartbeat - if I had it

Interesting about the rear sway bar, be a definite for me if it helps flatten the handling. Can I ask you how much, where you got it from, and did you fit it yourself?

The Suzuki now has a 3.2 V6 to replace the lame and thirsty 2.7. The TDI in the Zuk is a FWD unit swung north-south and a poor job of it IMO. Noisy and not much grunt - a yesteryear diesel.

But the Zuk and the Tig are not really the same class of car, as one has low range and the other doesn't.

Hard choice I reckon - Zuk delivered tomorrow or Tig in 12 months ......both good cars (except zuk diesel - leave alone).

From my info, it's an 'old' Renault unit. Why the hell you'd that is beyond me. Must have got them very cheap!

The susi is good and I like the looks of it and it's handling. Haven't driven the newer version with 3.2 though. That should make a difference. However, as you say Gerhard, they're in slightly different class, and as I don't need a 4wd to go 4wding in, it falls short for me (especially the manual, - it's a bit agricultural compared to the Tig). But this waiting is killing me. I'm having to borrow my fathers little mx5 to get around in and it's killing me!

    Yep, old Renault unit.

Ya poor bugga - fancy having to put up with an MX5, arguably the best car ever to come out of Japan, while you wait

from Townsville...and yes, the torque is great, no power surge as it comes on early, and with the tip-tronic it's almost like driving a manual and avoids the most of the slushing of the gearbox. interestingly, the torque of both 2lt engines is the same, just more kw and a slightly different torque curve for the 147.

Actually, I did offer Guy my tig, but it's a bit far away as I'm in Far North Qld.

swaybar - from Ian@rennenhaus, great guy to deal with (had previous dealings with him for my MKV golf). Just realised I said H&R but it's actually a Neuspeed. The golf had a H&R and I read somewhere the Tig uses same bars as MKVR32. Ian had the R32 bars in stock at prices before the recent downturn, from memory around $600 incl neuspeed h/d linkpins.

I didn't fit myself, but I don't think it's hard to do on the rear, just a bit of a philistine when it comes to mechanical stuff...started with the softest setting, which already made a difference, but have just had it changed to intermediate, makes a great difference.

    hope this helps

Thanks, that is very good result for petrol engine comparing to diesel in the Tiguan.
