    Aluminium / stainless steel pedals

Hi guys, I'm picking up my new Tiguan next month. One of the first things that I'd like to do is fit some aluminium or stainless steel pedals, preferrably VW-styled pedals (e.g. pedals from the Golf GTI without any GTI markings would be perfect). Has anyone done this or have any recommendations as to what types might be suitable?

Thanks, all. This is a great website!

    Andrew

Digging up an old thread as I'm running out of mods to do and thought that some new pedals would make a nice Christmas present

Anyone have suggestions/recommendations on where to get some OEM (R-line???) pedals to suit RHD Tigs?

NOTE: All these were taken from the Mk5 Golf GTI parts bin (except footrest).
Aussietig do you remember where you got your pedals/dead pedal from?

Yes ... know what that feels like and kinda reached that point (myself) about a year ago.

Was thinking of changing my rims after my Mrs has had so many encounters with the kerb.
But looked at the price + shipping for what I was interested in and couldn't commit!

Besides ... thinking of going back to Boy Racer days sometime next year (when kids are out of prams and finally starting school).
So will eventually be looking for a good owner to adopt my Tig.

Anyhow, my pedals came straight from my Mk5 GTI that I sold which I had upgraded to R32 pedals.
But eBay is your friend and particularly look for Eastern Europe sellers, as opposed to Germans for better prices.

Definitely make sure that they're RHD and you can even go for Mk5 GTI pedals (if there is a price difference with say Mk6).

But IIRC the stem/thread on the Mk5 accelerator pedal (going down through the floor) isn't long enough.
However the 1 bolt securing it to the floor seems to keep the pedal in place and has never budged.

Yeah getting to the point of needing to stop before it starts getting tacky.

OK so the Mk5 GTI obviously had an OEM RHD aluminium dead pedal.... will keep looking as I'd like to have a complete matching set.

OSIR make a nice dead pedal too Tigger. I have one on my car. They are about $100 but really nice quality and match the pedals really well. I'll find a link and post it up in a tick.

Thanks guys. Also went to my local VW Parts dept and they can do the accelerator and brake pedal only for the Tig (no dead pedal).

Prices are more than buying overseas but then you do get a 2 year warranty on the parts and they are guaranteed genuine and will definitely fit.

More than twice Tuning Fanatics online price so it makes it hard to buy local.

I did confirm that the online guys parts were an OEM part.

Now to find a RHD dead pedal...
