    aerial on the tig

    Hi Guys,
Does anybody know if you can purchase a smaller aerial than the standard one that comes on the tig (103tdi)
I often use a car cover to cover it up when its hot but have to unscrew the antenna to avoid bending it.

Also, sorry - the "coming home" headlight feature, I have it switched it to stay on for 20 seconds when you lock the doors, but the headlights dont actually come on.
I read the manual but cant find why they wouldnt come on.

Saying that, when I unlock the doors (remote key) the headlights come on...

    Cheers

The Sharan Arial replacement seems to be the best bet.
These can be sourced from anywhere on google really.
Just screw the old one off and screw the new one on i believe.

I don't know about the coming home feature.
Might have to look at some vagcom changes for that one.

They are currently available from the Dub Addiction website for $29.95 inc GST and free postage. A popular upgrade on Tigs that need to get through low garage doors as well

Seems to be a common problem with these cars as a few of the dealers around the country have even started ordering them.

You will need to flash your headlights once after you turn the ignition off. When you open the doors, the lights will come. It's in the manual.

Re the "coming home" feature; it took me ages to work that one out.

When you get home and turn the vehicle off, you need to flick the left-hand light/cruise wand towards you before you open the drivers door. You will see the headlights flash and then when you open the door they should stay on for the pre-set time.

I had expected this to be more of an "automatic" thing that would kick in when the sensors detected low light but, when you think about it, it makes more sense the way they've set it up.

    Cheers,
    Luke

All correct HOWEVER if you have auto headlights and your garage is dark enough to trigger them (as mine is) then it works without having to flick the lights I think (now I've said that I'm not positive but I am pretty sure !!!).

I have auto headlights (I thought they were standard - but maybe came with the comfort pack?), but mine have only ever worked once. I don't know if I accidentally flicked the high beam lever or not. Now I know that, I'll try it out though.

Thanks very much. so simple and so good. I wondered why the feature didn't work for me - who would have thought of reading the manual

Maybe this should go in the quirks section to help our other non-readers?

I thought I might be able to source this stubby / Sharan antenna locally...
    but no luck?!?!?!!

Tried going to dubaddiction today to order one via them - but their website seems to be down?!?!?!

(mmm is it actually an antenna or an aerial!?!?!? And is there a difference?!)
