Advice needed, how to drain fuel tank?

Hi everyone, I made a mistake at the diesel bowser yesterday and have accidentally put 15 litres of petrol into my tdi. There's no bung in the tank and it can't be siphoned out. Can anybody tell me if there is access to the top of the tank at all? Any advice would be great, thanks.

Remove the rear seat, fuel tank is under a black cover on the right hand side, lift the cover up, take off the fuel pump connector, release the fuel supply line hose (black in colour) from the fuel pump, grab a 12v battery, get some wires and crimp some pin connectors to them (that will fit the fuel pump connection) connect the connectors to both sides of the fuel pump (swap the positive and negative around untill it starts flowing fuel through the tube you previously connected to the fuel feed line. Continue draining untill it no longer drains anymore, remove fuel pump and clean out tank, replace fuel filter and presto.

Or PM me and I can do it for you.

that works for all models except tiguan. tiguan has a weird pump and ive never managed to trigger the pump that way. Tiguan can be drained with VCDS to prime the pump....VDUB...

Happy to report that my Tiggy is healthy again with a fresh full tank of diesel. Thanks again for the helpful advice.

Depending on what motor is in it, you can power up the high pressure electric pump in the engine bay too.

Pretty simple process, as "The One" advised, removed rear seat and opened up two hatches on either side of the tank, siphoned fuel out, purged lines to filter and installed a new filter. Petrol hadn't made it to filter housing so was all good. Thanks again for advice from this forum!
