Adaptive Chassis Control (DCC)

My Owners Manual mentions this optional feature which my Tig does not have. Booklet 3.2 page 50.
Is this option available in Australia? I do not recall any dealer mentioning it.
What components are involved?

I do not know what my Tig is set to, but I guess it would be the Neutral or Sporty. Is it possible to have the Tig re-programmed to different setting?
Would this require different shock absorbers?

DCC is a current option on the Tiguan and I have it myself. This is simply an adjustable shock absorber with three different settings, from sport to comfort. It also adjusts the feel of steering too ie in sport mode the steering is stiffer to give you the sporting feel.
I find it great to use around town and cornering. I use comfort on open roads.

I went for this option instead of spending $3500 on sound option.

I enjoy using this feature, only on winding roads, I dont get the body roll and handles much better. Also, the steering is more responsive (tends to stiffen up).
I have to say it gives the Tig a good sporty feel and also handles beautifully on road bends and corners.

I took through Great Ocean Road (Victoria) with all winding roads and hills and enjoyed every minute of it, including the wife and kids.

Tried on loose gravel and it is not so comfortable, I prefer using the normal setting, just personal.

I find the "Comfort" setting very effective in carparks, soaks a lot of the bumps and it is far better than my Xtrail. It is a very pleasant setting to drive with, my wife swears by it.

Thanks DieselTig...it does sound like a pretty nice option to get a family vehicle that is sporty but still family friendly.

Actually, I used the sports setting yesterday on a road with speed humps and surprisingly it was better than the normal or comfort setting. There you go!

I've done a bit more reading. whilst i feel this features is something exceptional for VW (not a proper premium brand) they dont really go into enough depth or illustration of just how good it is. Weird for marketing but there you go.

To the point. The system reacts in any mode to changes so even in Comfort mode changing lanes is stiffer than the normal comfort setting to stop body roll. I figure Sports must be happy to deal with obstacles etc like this when it is able.

They really should have like a 10 minute video on their website showing this system working with some simple technical measurements to show how well the system soaks bumps and stops body roll etc.

I have some more detailed technical articles about the DCC, will dig them out and see if I can scan it and post it here.

But i can tell you now, it is not a gimmick, it does work well.
