The temp flap motor is usually in the passenger footwell to the right near the centre tunnel. Basically kinda between the radio and the floor.
Hi,
New to the forum and hope someone may help. Have a problem with the climate control a/c on my 09 Tiguan. Getting Fault code 01809 'Actuating motor for Temp Flap left (V15.
Have researched on line and have a rough idea where it is ( although all the instances on line are LH drive cars)
I was wondering if anyone with RH Drive had a similar problem and may be able to guide me to the actual motor as there are several in the a/c system. I am not certain which is the best way to attack it either, some on line say go up from under the dash others say it is far easier to take the lower part of the dash out.
Any help appreciated![]()

Yeah, that's where I thought it was from the research I did on line but my Tig looks nothing like the pictures posted there and I can't even see an acutating motor (see photo) The only thing I can think of is that everything is reversed in the RH drive cars?

Hard to tell from pics...most motors are a pain in the arse to get to.

Most things in new cars are pain to get at !!!! I know its hard from the pics but what you see is what you get, all that is there is the piping and some plastic nothing else. I think I will pull off the other side and have a look there but then if it is there does it become the RH flap and if so where is the left???
Why can't they make these things universal !!
I just unplug them, ignition on and scan faults until I get an open circuit fault on the flap motor that I want..
P.s: if memory serves me correct though, the v158 is on the left of the two middle centre vents, take the glovebox out and there is a metal dash bracket take this out and you have 'some' room to remove this motor, better than taking the dash out.
