    Is ACC really worth it?

    Hi all,

Just wondering if the ACC option is really benefical or noticable on the Tiguans? I didnt order it, but a friend has it in his MK6 golf and really loves it.

How is it in the larger Tigs?

At this stage ... I'd say no. But have only done 1500km so far and hardly any windy roads to properly test it.

Nevertheless, find both the comfort and normal settings do their jobs well.

But a bit disappointed with the sports settings. Hardly notice the increased sharpness in steering and throttle response.

With the larger travel suspenion i don't think the soft setting will be much different.
Sport shouldn't really make a difference also due to the larger travel.

I believe they offer it in Tig's now so why not go for a test drive in one?

Yep. I will drive one if there is a dealer with it fitted to the test car...that is always the hassle- trying to find one.

I am just trying to work out which features to consider for the new tig (with the mk6 front end!...whenever that comes out??!!)

I would say it is a good compromise between the standard suspended Tigs and those with aftermarket H&R suspension.

If I were to buy a Tig again, I'd option the ACC and leave the stock springs alone .....

I'd say ACC just offers you the option to extend the life of the suspension.

Set it from "comfort" to "normal" to "sports" as it gets worn and gives a bit (over time), just to maintain the same standard suspension feel.

Well how else can I justify being the first guinea pig (presumably on this Forum) to take up this option that I'm also not 100% happy with?

Me=second guinea pig! But I'm undecided as I haven't even racked up 800 k's yet, but couldn't tell you the difference between having it and not having it! All I can say is I drive the thing in comfort mode all the time, it's a hell of a smoother ride than the old F6 over the lumpy NSW roads, that's for sure.

We've got ACC in ours and done 15k kms so far over 6 months or more.
Generally leave it in normal mode for most driving and occaisionally Comfort on hwy driving if it's a bit rough (18" NY Rims).
I give Sport a work out as it reduces the body roll significantly. The seating / steering wheel position is not 100% comfy for me though so the additional weight on the steering wheel in sport actually makes it a bit awkward. Need more reach adjustment on the steering wheel IMHO.
There is definetly a significant difference between the settings, but as to whether it's worth it not is up to each individual and if you like buttons or not. If you have the stock 17" rims, i probably wouldn't bother, but it's actually useful with the 18" 's.
