    5000 km service / inspection?

Hi, sorry if this topic has been covered.....

When I purchased my Tig, I was offered a free 5000km service/inspection by the dealer. Well, that time is now, and I have booked at in for this Wednesday.
My question is, has anyone else had this offer, and apart from the usual checking of fluids (I presume oil change wouldn't be included) is there anything else they would do....rotating tyres, etc. I was told it would take about 45 minutes.

    Cheers

I asked about the 1000km check up and the dealer said it was basically an offer to check the oil and fix any easy issues that had come up such as the recall for keyhole covers etc.

If it's close to 12 months since your car was made, I would ask how much extra they want to change the engine oil and the oil filter?

This is just a free ciurtesy check to see if any minor issues have developed since you bought it.

They don't do very much, and there is no change of oil, filter or anything like that. It is really just in case they missed something during the pre-delivery service, or if there is anything you want checked. In my case, I raised the issues with the cigarette lighter, the transmission and the radio and was told that they were all standard for the type of vehicle so nothing was done. It is not part of the standard scheduled services. When I had mine done, I asked if they had completed the relevant part of the service log, only to be told it was not a standard scheduled service.

I bought mine in July and my dealer said they don't need to see it again until next year or 15,000 km

Yeah, that's all it was...topped up a bit of coolant, pretty much a safety check.
In the time I had a cup of coffee and checked out some new VW's in the showroom, it was done!

I'll be taking mine back in to get the wheels swapped around to get the treads rotating the right way. Happens to be around 5000 km.

Will be asking them to check a couple of things. But want to ask about the wastegate rattle. I know it's been mentioned a lot on here, but could find anything on the first page. What do I need to specifically tell them to look at?
