I wonder what's up with such inconsistencies.

Depending on the option?? The first photo is manual whereas the second one is DSG, the second photo also has Dynaudio logo if you look closely on the speaker grille.

Might have to wait for Mk3 I think.

I like the front and that would be a far easier retrofit. Bumper, grill, bonnet, lights and fenders L+R. Cost about $5K I think but certainly do-able.
I just realised the outer lights are different

The front end swap could be interesting though.

I know its early, but anyone thinking they "might" have uprated the towing ability?

I'd really like a Tig as our second car, but I want it to be able to tow our 1400kg camper trailer that has 150kg ball weight.

Just load your trailer appropriately so that the ball weight goes down to 100Kg (which is ample regardless of the 10% "story" touted around by some, the Brits regularly do it, and of course all dual axle trailers do it !!) and the Tig will cope just fine (as long as the trailer is braked of course !!).

    Cheers

Trailer is loaded appropriately. I also have a built in margin of error, so even if I could get it down to 100kg, it would still be too close to the Tiguans capacity to have me worried (and with water tanks at the rear, the nose weight would increase for the trip home).

Well if you can't get the ball weight down to 100kg (Usually that's no big deal moving stuff around a bit) and you're not prepared to tow above that (which I agree with totally) you'll just have to buy a different tow vehicle. I don't see the new model being any different than the current one, it's all to do with the squatting of the rear suspension and the lifting of the front for braking etc. Sorry.

    Would an Amarok do?

Yep I was just wondering. Short of unbolting water tanks and batteries that weight ain't gonna change much ...

Too big. I already have a Pajero anyway, this is just to replace the Jetta as a town car and it would have been nice to have it be able to do towing duties as well. Not critical.
