    20" wheels question

Hello, i'm looking to get 20" wheels for my 2013 Tiguan. Just wondering what size would work best. Here are my 2 options.

    20x8.5 ET32

    20x10 ET40

What tire szie do you recommend as well? I don't want any stretch what so ever. Thank you!

I'm guessing you've looked at the various online wheel configurators to pick these sizes out.

One question (which doesn't apply to Aussie delivered Tiguans) is whether you have any body kit on your car. Reaseon I ask is that will effect what width/offset you can handle without haveing your wheels extend beyond the arches.

If it's standard wheel arches (flush with the body) then I think you're around the mark, though I'd double check before making a purchase.

Most of us haven't gone as wide as 10" so you'd be on your own as far as clearance.

Also I'd be looking at what tyre options you have available in both sizes as this may sway you one way or the other.

Also make sure whatever wheel you buy has the currect centre bore (57.1mm) and bolt hole PCD (5x112)

For 8.5 J x 20 ET 32 wheels, I suggest using 255/35 R20 97W XL tyres. If the original "Mallory" alloys (9.0 J x 19 ET 33 wheels fitted with 255/40 R19 96V tyres) can fit, these aftermarket wheels should be fine - in terms of sizing.

    For 10.0 J x 20 ET 40 wheels, I suggest using 255/35 R20 97W XL or 265/35 R20 99Y XL tyres, depending on what will fit without rubbing.

Although 255/35 R20 tyres on 10.0 J wheels might have a stretched appearance (even if it is a technically approved fitment), you may not have a choice in the matter if that's what it'll take to ensure the tyre & wheel assembly won't rub... assuming that 255/35 R20 tyres on 10.0 J wheels won't actually rub on a Tiguan in the first place - which is something you will need to confirm.

All this cost and trouble to make a Tig ride as though it's running on a riverbed ??
