2 Fault Light Appear At Once

    Hello All,

2 fault lights just came up on my dashboard. It started with "Fault in electronic parking break" after which I stopped and restarted the car in the hope that the fault light will go away. Unfortunately upon restart, another fault light appeared. This time it showed as "Fault in catalytic converter".

These fault light started immediately after I refuel at my local petrol station. Hopefully it's not related.

Can someone let me know if it is safe to drive to my local Dealer for a check up which is approximately 10km away?

Anyone wants to hazard a guess on the potential issue?

Other symptoms I experience after the fault lights are:

    1) Automatic gear don't shift well. Seems to be in 3rd or 4th gear. Can no longer see which gear is on.
    2) Parking camera no longer works.

Any comments would be great help.

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards,
    XTX

Ring your dealer in the morning and ask them what to do.

If anyone is telling you to drive the car and aren't going to pay for the repairs if it breaks or causes an accident then I wouldn't be listening to their advice.

Either that or get your hands on a VCDS cable and look what faults are showing up.

Sounds to me like some gremlins in the electrics.

Electronic park brake button failures are common, as is the control module for them.

From memory, if the control module is faulty, it'll log codes in the ABS and Engine control modules as well.

Just saying check your battery voltage. Last time when my battery went flat all sort of fault codes came up in the dash or could be a short or loose connection.

    Hello All,

I just got my Tig back. Local dealer is kind enough to waive the inspection fee (My Tig is out of warranty by about 3 months). According to the technician it's sporadic fault and something to do with humidity ingress to the sensor or something similar. He said it should not happen again. If it happens again I have to change the "harness".

It seems fixed now. I will observe my Tig for few days and see how it goes.

    Thanks everyone for your input.

    Cheers,
    XTX
