    What a mish-mash of a web page.
It's policy formulated by a State Gov't department, therefore it's not meant to be logical. I know where I work, the subject matter specialists write the report then the document works it way up through a conga line of self-proclaimed experts who all want to cover their butts & exhibit their (lack of) knowledge & eventually it becomes a policy.

I can assure you that when weighing the differences between the VW Tiguan 155tsi & the Skoda VRS, the thing at the forefront of their mind is probably lunch.

We had the same issue when we bought 2 x 118TSI, super and turbo charged tiggys.
Everyone at our local RTAs has a different story.
We have 2 P platers. Some said we needed an exemption per person per car.
Others just 1 exmption per car.
Othersl that it was one per person.
Some said the exemption was on the basis of it being the only car available.
Others that it was on the basis of low power turbo designed for fuel economy, not power.
    Each exemption costs about $30.
First problem is finding someone at RTA with a brain who can think through what you're asking them.....
Tiguan MY12 118TSI, white, no frills..... Had ANS810 ... Note the HAD ..... Now got RCD510 supplemented by 7" Android TomTom mounted on a HoldMyPhone .... Upgraded speakers Vibe BlackAir front splits and MBQuartz 12" ported sub driven from Infinity Reference 5350a amp .... oh and added fun

Well, I've been using the Tig since I got my Green P's and the police quite frankly don't care.
I've been RBTed so many times, it seems like the police only care or know only about the high powered cars.

Just put your licence plate on, don't speed and don't drink and drive. By all means pay the $30 exemption fee, but seriously...it's a family SUV.

I understand what your saying but i can't help thinking how it might turn very pear-shaped when involved in an accident (that is not your fault) and the other party is desperately trying to shift the blame away from themselves.
