That is the price you pay to live in Canberra, I think.
Mercedes in Australia has fixed price servicing.
VW in Germany makes a big deal about fixed price servicing and insurance and set pricing for cars older than 5 years
Appears high price servicing is a money-making deal for VW Dealerships in Australia that they'll have to give up if they want to increase their market share.
TDI tiguan in the drive. ParkAssist, comfort, fogs
Service every 15,000, new fault code every 7,500km
VW dealer servicing is expensive and there is little if any dialogue between the front office and the service area. On Thursday I received a call from our salesman to advise that he had sorted out a time with the service department for us to get the radio codes for our two new VW's. I had previously asked that these be provided prior to us picking them up, but this did not happen.
The new time was booked for 0900 this morning, Saturday, a bit of a bugger, but we wanted that codes.
Arrived at the service section, they knew nothing about it. Not the fault of the service department I understand but we waited for an hour and our cars hadnt gone in, so now, we have booked for another time, next weekend. If only they had given us the codes in the first bloody place.
The reports on our local independent service company are very good so the dealer will lose us very quickly.
Aren't the codes in the service book folder? credit card sized piece of paper?
Have you asked for a refund on the PD money as the radios are supposed to be coded as part of the PD.

Brad,
I am told by the dealer that the codes are NOT listed anywhere in documentation either the owners book or any documentation that they have. A search of threads in this forum suggests that the only way to obtain the same is for the vehicle to be plugged into an approved VW linked computer. This is also the advice from the dealer. It has all been quite time consuming so far.
Cheers

Thanks Aussie.
It was after reading your posts I chased up the details with the dealer and as I said earlier, I asked for them to be available before I picked the vehicle up, but .....................
