So I'm about to do my 60,000km service and the cost is going to be $1250, does this sound right as well?

    Things getting done:

    Air filter
    pollen filter
    Haldex coupling oil
    Engine oil
    Spark plugs
    Brake fluid

I think there is one more, some sort of filter i think.

Sounds about what they do at the 60k. Diffs as well? DSG? You'll probably find they are doing spark plugs & other stuff early (seems to be an Aussie thing) but what can you do?

This appears to be an out and out ripoff to me, unless rents in your part of the country are excessive.

Here are the quoted service costs for a 103 TDI bought April this year from Sunshine Coast Queensland dealer. The 15k service was within 15 dollars of that quoted price. As you can see their quote for 60K is HALF what you were quoted. Standard service costs shouldn't be too much to ask from a company the size of VW. After all what are we talking about, some oil and basic inspections. The 105K has some justification as there are timing belt and injector issues involved.

    75000 270.00

    90000 570.00

@203132 - before I bought mine a month ago I was quoted by the local dealer approx the same price for the 60k service as you were.

If @dartiguan's dealer can do it for that price I'd willing take a holiday up to the Sunny Coast and save $600

The 60k price quoted won't include Brake flush (they'll dud you $100 for that). Also the petrol engines need spark plugs - they'll dud you about $28 each for them plus $100 to fit them.

The only way you can possibly compare prices is to get itemised quotes.

I reconfirmed, they will replace the brake fluid for me, I asked for a discount and the sales asked the service manager and what do you know...reduced to $1000.

I went around getting some quotes, VW village on Anzac Parade in Kensington SYD was $800 and they won't void warranty.

But going ahead with VW anyways...

While we're talking about the cost of a 60000k service in the 15000k thread, i just thought i would add that my 30000k service report states "drained, flushed & bleed brake fluid system" with a $14.73 cost for fluid. Probably a bit early, as i read something in the handbook about doing the 1st one after 3 years, then every 2 years & my Tig is only 18 months old...

But I genuinely wonder how anyone could do the 'claimed' service i just had done for $220... ?
EDIT $220 would be feasible for an oil & filter service, but not much more would be done than that...

    The abbreviated list reported reads:
Replace: engine oil, filter, pollen filter, brake system as mentioned, haldex coupling oil, lube locks, hinges, latches. Check: drive belts, cooling system, air filter, battery electrolyte & fluid, all oil & fluid levels, steering & suspension, exhaust system, brake pads, rotors, handbrake adjust, all seat belts, lights, wipers, tyre pressure... Diagnostic check & test drive.

I have also had the wastegate clip & gearbox earth-lead done.

    A canberra 'Special Price"??

I have just picked up my new Tiguan 132 and during the course of delivery asked about the prices for scheduled services. I was quoted $400+.

Roll on the specialists I reckon.
