    Ye Olde CAN-bus issue

    Hi All,
Does anyone know if the 1K0907530 AD revision gateway will work in a 2007 MkV Golf in order to replace the RCD300 with an RCD310?
The AD revisions seem to be the current available rev. All previous revisions of the gateway appear to have been superseded, but I'm not 100% sure on backwards compatibility of the latest rev.
    Thanks

Hopefully my last question on this!
I've now upgraded my Can-bus to version "L" and all seems good. I just wanted to check if others have the same outcome on the following when upgrading to a RCD510:
    1) Ignition on with radio draws about 1.7A
    2) Ignition off/radio off draws about 1A
    3) After about 3-4 mins of sitting on 1A the draw drops to zero.
I'm presuming the 1A draw is as if the car is in standby, then when it drops to zero it goes into sleep mode. My only small concern is that I thought there was still meant to be some sort of minimum draw i.e about 0.5A. Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy if this zero is normal but going by old threads/posts 0.5-0.6A seems to be the more common occurance.
    cheers in advance.

It's hard to measure power drain as it's dependent on so many factors. I'd be inclined to measure the battery voltage at night and the next day before starting to see how much it's dropping overnight. There are calculators online that can give you an idea of status.

What you posted sounds about right so I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks Maverick, I was fairly certain it all turned out ok, just got a bit paranoid about ending up with a flat battery. I work weird hours, so the last thing I wanted was to walk out to the car at 4am and hear the dreaded whir of an engine not wanting to kick over.
