Question Wyong, Ourimbah the RNS 510's "Bermuda Triangle"?

    Hello folks,
I have an RNS510 SatNav (retro fitted) in a MY09 Golf and I live on the Central Coast, Gosford area. I travel past Ourimbah and Wyong travelling to Newcastle frequently. My situation is, the Satnav locks up and reboots itself everytime I pass the Ourimbah Wyong area travelling to and from Newcastle. My questions are -
Does or did anyone else suffer the same fate? If so, have you been able to fix the problem? If so, how, pls? I have taken it back to the dealer once and they haven't been able to find a solution as yet. I am running V2 maps and no idea of the software etc. Any help would be appreciated.

I travelled to Newcastle on Saturday to get a Mk4. We were only listening to the radio and the RNS 510 (factory fit 06/09 build) in the MK6 switched itself off on 3 occasions, all around Wyong area. It was fine everywhere else. Can't explain it either I'm afraid, but various other people have experienced the same thing.

    Absolutely correct.
Guy Harding and I experienced the same thing back in August coming down from Brisbane for the Motor magazine Tuner Challenge.
We were careful to watch for it on the way back, and sure enough it shut down at Ourimbah, then re-booted and carried on as if nothing had happened...
    Any ASIO/Bermuda Triangle connections?Cheers
    Leni

I recall a thread about this maybe 12 months ago.
Seems like it is actually a triangle as some complained it happens at Wyong
and towards The Entrance, most mentioned Ourimbah.

I drove into the industrial area in Wyong a couple of weeks ago and all was fine with the Sat Nav.

I have a relatively new system so it could be a previous version problem? (I'm not sure what version I have tho. it should be the latest cos it's only 6 weeks old)

    Gosford Triangle

I had the same issue when visiting Gosford on Business recently, went to dinner down at Terrigle and the unit just stoped working! When I moved the car later it restarted but the maps were blank!! When I turned the car off the radio kept working and would not turn off. I left the next day back to Canberra and it has been fine since!!!!

    VERY unusual
