Mk4 Standard head unit ERROR 04?

Hey Guys,
This weekend my head unit had decided that it wont play cd's anymore i have tried different cd's burnt and not burnt ones. The error being dispayed is 04 any1 no how i can fix this thanks

Did you disconect the battery at any point leading up to it? From memory it displays 01, 02, 03... each time you enter the code...

Does the radio still work?

No battery wasn't d/c and yes raido still works, earlier that day it was playing the cd's fine

Perhaps you should try and re-set it by d/c the battery.

From Memory error 4 usually means that you have a problematic CD lense or your CD's are scratch therefore you cannot read the CD's.

At least that is what i can remember a year or to go one of my friends car radio here did it, so we simply removed and installed a new radio.

yer took the easy option out and bought a new head unit today
