Wiring Adaptor for Mk3 Golf OEM Radio to suit Aftermarket

Ok guys, not sure if this is old news or what, but in an attempt to beable to place a for sale post I have to contribute something, so this is something I know and hoepfully may be of interest to anyone doing an aftermarket radio install on their mk3 golf.

If you are removing the stock standard audio unit (like I had to do) then you will notice that there is a plug connected to the back of the original audio which plugs into another connector hooked up to the vehicles wiring system.

In order to take the hassle out of rewiring when installing aftermarket audio and trying to work out what each wire represents you can purchase this neat ISO adaptor from repco or supercheap.

The adaptor plugs into the existing vehicles wiring loom and comes with named bare ended wires to tell you where they should connect onto your new aftermarket audio unit. The only thing I noticed which wasnt 100% was that the continuous power and ignition wires needed to be reversed.

From memory the adaptor retailed for around $40 and saved me alot of time during the install.

Part number is APP7201 (ISO to bare ends.)
The APP7201 has an inbuilt link for the illumination wire in an Audi or Volkswagon.
