I can't really say because my RCD510 was only in the car for half a day, it's in my mates Golf 5 now.
You can actually change around the equalisation settings in the RCD to a bunch of cars (Skoda Superb, Roomster, Seat Leon etc.) via VCDS. It does change around the sound and staging quite a lot. Not sure how they'd go with the Polos speakers but the Superb setting added a tonne of low down bass to his stock Golf 5 speakers.
These settings are in the RNS510 too but for some reason when i select them it cuts the sound entirely. But the RNS510 does just make a nice flat sound which you can then tweak with the sub volume and hi-pass.
