Where to go in Brisbane

Hi all,

I just got my MKV MY2007 GTI. It comes with the factory HU.

Was wondering if anyone here could direct me to somewhere in Brisbane, if i want to upgrade my HU , to be iPod compaitable. ( ie, being able to use an aux cable ).

Was told that the only way was to go back to a VW dealer for it.

Welcome Thane.
Few questions that may help people help you.
Do you want to keep the factory setup, or are you looking for something aftermarket?
Are you mechanically (and electrically) minded enough to install something yourself?
Have you considered the Volkswagen Media Direct Interface (MDI)? Is this what you are after (full control of ipod through head unit?)

I'm looking at keeping the factory setup. I understand that VW wld be able to install the MDI but the wait is really long, hence looking around to see if there are any other options.

Have you tried contacting a VW service specialist to see if they can do it for you.

Mike Webber from Prestige and Performance at coorparoo should be your closest specialist.

Hopefully we can get you out to teh Thursday night meet's at Harry's and the Monthyl Euro meet's.

There is a Gold Coast Car Sound @ Slacks Creek if you are on the southside.
Plenty of other car-audio specialists around the place, Northfield would be the alternative north of the city.

I've replaced the headunit in plenty of MK5 golfs, let me know if you have any questions.
