What have they done to my GPS?

Got myself a Superb Elegance Wagon 3 weeks ago and noticed the AM radio was not working so booked it in to have it fixed. After 3 trips to the dealer for this simple job picked up the car last week Thursday only to find that the GPS was not working. Car can't locate any satellites. Dealer's response when I picked it up was that I needed to drive it for a few kms for that to happen. Well, 3 days later, still no signal. I am plannning to take it back again next week but, to be honest, I don't think they know what they are doing. Anyone got any suggestions why it isn't working? Would love to go to the dealer (Richmond Skoda) armed with all the important info

Sounds like they forgot to plug in the gps aerial.....
Richmond skoda? Their sales team seemed pretty hopeless to me too!
More opportunites have been lost from indecision, rather than wrong decision....

looks like they didn't plug the gps signal cable in.
it sits (behind the rns510) right next to the am/fm connection.

they gonna have to pull the columbus unit out & reconnect it for u.
wat a pain in the hassle!!!

Yeah, that's what I thought. And I forgot to say in my original post that the AM radio is still not fixed, despite 3 visits!! They say they have to order a part from Germany which will take 2 weeks to arrive. So I think I'll just wait until then and have them do both at the same time.

Have to say, though, loving the car! Discovering all these neat little features/tricks all the time. A real pleasure to own and drive

Not sure if this is relevant, but when I fitted an RNS to my MK V Golf , I had to fit one of thos 2 into 1 antenna adaptors. I had the same problen, FM was OK but no AM. AM is sh*t in Brisbane, but I wanted it all to work as it should.

By swapping the double ended plugs, problem fixed, so I take it that one plug is for AM ant the other for FM. Later models still have a double plug but it ihas a single end now . See pic Hope this helps you
